Prince Consort Professor of Conducting Martyn Brabbins leads the RCM Symphony Orchestra in a programme which includes Judith Weir’s Heroic Strokes of the Bow, the world premiere of RCM concerto competition winner Anian Wiedner’s composition Sesquialtera, and Shostakovich’s eleventh symphony, written about the year 1905 in Russia.
